Need Motivation?

So many of us struggle finding time and energy to do the things we know we should do. Especially in the area of discipling other believers, and sharing our faith with people! These are the quintessential “important but not urgent” spiritual activities. Maybe this quote from Peter C. Wagner will help remind us about the battle at hand!

“The radical difference between New Testament times and Old Testament times is described clearly by Jesus reference to John the Baptist. Jesus affirmed that no greater man was born of woman than John the Baptist. But John symbolized the ending of the Old Testament age, and Jesus said, He who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he (Matt 11:11).

Immediately afterward, Jesus announced His declaration of war. He said that from the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven comes with violence and violent take it by force. (Matt 11:12). With this, Jesus was establishing the pattern of things to come. His people would be recruited, mobilized and empowered to move with force against Satan and on behalf of the kingdom of God, Jesus desire is that His people regain dominion over creation originally intended for Adam.

Satan and his kingdom receive a setback every time a sick person is healed, every time a demon is cast out, every time a lost soul is saved, every time people of different races live together in love and harmony, every time injustice is exposed and punished, every time families maintain standards of holiness and purity. Satan, the thief, comes to steal, to kill and to destroy; but Jesus comes that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10).”
